Journeys of the Heart’s officiants believe that the ceremony itself is not just the beginning but the heart of the entire wedding day as it is the purpose for your gathering!

Whether spiritual or secular, traditional or exceptional, together with you we craft a beautiful ceremony customized just for you. Most of our ceremonies last 20 to 40 minutes, depending upon readings or rituals each couple chooses to include. Our officiants are exceptionally talented and quite experienced in a multitude of faith, cultural, secular and spiritual traditions. We delight in creating ceremonies that truly reflect your ideas about how these ceremony moments should be – ones that will tell the story of all your hopes and dreams, your unique history and your shared future.

Your wedding guests are not just observers in an audience, but an extension of you and your families as they are the people you chose to be with you at this beginning of your marriage journey. We share the ideal that the entire wedding ceremony planning process should be easy, interesting, romantic and fun, a truly special time in those important months and weeks leading up to your wedding day. We’ll provide you with phone and e-mail support; giving you all the guidance you may need in order for your ceremony to be the wonderful cornerstone of your new life together.

On the day of the ceremony, your officiant will work with the musicians or D.J., the photographer, the representative of the venue and all other service providers to ensure a seamless, smooth and joy-filled occasion. In our care you will be in the best of hands.

Civil Unions and Commitment Ceremonies

Journeys of the Heart respects and celebrates all loving unions as marriages. We fundamentally believe that marriage happens in the hearts of two people who love each other, not in the halls of government. We eagerly await the day that the laws of all the states and the nation do the same and recognize the equality of all loving unions.

We would be honored to officiate for a legal civil union in New Jersey and elsewhere we are equally happy to celebrate your union or commitment ceremony. For all weddings and unions, we provide a Journeys of the Heart Certificate of Marriage - this certificate is identical to the one we issue to traditional, non-gay couples.

Our ceremony packages are as follows:

Platinum - Customized ceremony including your love story (if you wish), 1-hour in person consultation along with an additional 1 hour pre-wedding consultation, either in person or on the telephone, (client choice.) Rehearsal on a day separate from the ceremony.

Gold - Customized ceremony including your love story (if you wish), 1 to 1 ½ hour in-person consultation. Rehearsal on a day separate from the ceremony.

Diamond - Customized ceremony including your love story (if you wish), 1-hour in person consultation, rehearsal one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. (Most select this package, as it offers the most service at only a slightly higher fee, so is the overall best value.

Sapphire - Similar to the Diamond package except that the consultation is a telephone conversation rather than in-person, rehearsal one hour prior to the start of the ceremony.

Ruby - Standard ceremony at your venue with 15-minute phone consultation; rehearsal one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Your officiant will send vow choices (or you can write your own) and ceremony outline.

Emerald- From time to time someone is being deployed in the military or are under severe financial constraints and neither the wonderful venue they hoped to book nor the customized ceremony they wished for is within their reach at this time. Your requirements matter to us. We will make every reasonable attempt to work with you.

Planning to Elope? – Journeys of the Heart is adept at scheduling last-minute weddings, or elopements. We are flexible as to times and locations. Sometimes couples wish to marry privately (for insurance benefits or other reasons) and have a traditional wedding ceremony at a later date. We happily accommodate either or both events.
