Reclaiming a Place of Violence

Reclaiming a Place of Violence

There is an instinct within us to want to reclaim or somehow bring honor to a place of violence, as witnessed by the roadside flowers where an accident has occurred, or the laying of flowers, balloons and stuffed animals where terrible crimes have happened.

Whether the violence is a result of an accident or a crime, it is an unfortunate fact of life as each day’s news brings stories sometimes too terrible to contemplate, resulting in anxiety, stress, nightmares and depression for those who witnessed or those who are the loved ones of victims.  Journeys of the Heart provides a quiet and tender ritual to bless and reclaim a place where a violent act has occurred.

Journeys of the Heart can create rituals whether religious and secular, in a setting or a place that has been violated, that will bring a measure of comfort to all concerned.

Journeys of the Heart founder, Marguerite Sexton, created a ritual called Making Holy What Has Been Violated which was published in a book called Speaking to Silence, available through Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Speaking-Silence-Christian-Worship-Healing/dp/0664228801/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Jen and Bill

“It has been close to three years since we were married. I want to reach back and extend our thanks and appreciation for being part of our day and truly making it unique. When we think back to our day, our vows, our ceremony - our hearts are still warmed by its one-of-a-kind essence. Our wedding day was unforgettable.”
