Funerals are among the most important events in a family’s history.  Decisions made at a time of grief and loss have the ability to bring everyone closer for all time, as well as to assuage each one’s individual grief.  We seek to create a service that is intimate and personal, tender, informal and uplifting.

The overall purpose of a carefully planned funeral or memorial service is three-fold:

Family and friends are all gathered in the same place at the same time in a caring and comforting setting. 

All share together in a spiritually appropriate, carefully created ritual which at once celebrates the life of the deceased while not denying the often overwhelming sadness of the occasion. 

Finally, to recognize that, even in the face profound loss, it is possible to step into life again caring even more deeply about each other in tribute to the loved one’s memory.  This is the first step to healing.

Journeys of the Heart officiants are adept and guiding and facilitating each of these steps with sensitivity and care.
