Diane Smith-Hoban, Administrator of Journeys of the Heart and Officiant: Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley Region In addition to officiating weddings, funerals and baby blessings, Diane is involved in the day-to-day administration of Journeys of the Heart and loves connecting with people about their weddings and other ceremony needs.

She has been described as an intuitive, light-hearted and joyful officiant. She finds immense satisfaction in helping couples plan wonderful and memorable ceremonies incorporating their very truest selves with love and delight. Interesting and creative ceremonies and venues are of particular interest for Diane and she loves the challenges of a “non-traditional” ceremony location.

Dear Marguerite, Just wanted to follow up with you - Steve and I met with Diane on Sunday and we love love loved her!!! We are so excited, the officiant is SUCH an important part of a wedding service, and we just thought she was terrific. We'll be in touch with her and Journeys of the Heart shortly with a deposit and other necessary info to "save the date". - Colleen She has a master's degree in social work from Temple University and has worked extensively in many areas of the child welfare field, most recently teaching child advocacy in the clinical program at The University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is also an active volunteer for the organization Cure CMD working to forward research and build community for children and families affected by this group of rare diseases. Being drawn to working with and on behalf of children as an advocate, and as the mother of two great sons of her own, Diane is adept at planning celebrations and ceremonies that include them.

Diane, her husband and kids are avid Philadelphia sports fans, and Diane loves watching, playing and talking sports with them. Her family takes a sports related vacation each year with highlights including a 10 day baseball road trip through the Midwest and one very long plane ride to the last NFL Pro Bowl ever played in Hawaii. She also enjoys gardening, poetry, yoga, naps and thrift stores as well as reading and discussing good books. While she is funny and loves to laugh, she has a deeply spiritual core that helps her remain centered and balanced.
