BAR MITZVAH AND BAT MITZVAH CELEBRATIONS

 Journeys of the Heart offers bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah celebrations for children of families who are not currently affiliated with a synagogue but who still wish for their child to experience this important and sacred coming of age life ritual.

The Journeys of the Heart officiant will custom-design the bat mitzvah or bar mitzvah ritual that completely reflects your own family’s cultural and/or spiritual Jewish beliefs.  We will work with the child and the family to create a unique ceremony that honors the tradition of our foremothers and forefathers in faith while opening up new possibilities for the child’s own future potential in the tradition.

Your child will be exposed to Torah in a gentle, non-threatening way and will be taught basic language for the reading and understanding of his/her portion.  The ceremony will incorporate all the things that you and your child hold dear:  tradition, family, joy and laughter.  In this process he or she will gain an understanding of Torah in a way that demonstrates its relevancy for today.
